Carl’s career for the past two decades shooting for CD’s, book covers and magazines has taken him around the world photographing such musicians and luminaries as Paul McCartney, George Harrison, James Brown, Jefferson Airplane, Eric Clapton, the Dalai Lama and Deepak Chopra. A passionate storyteller, Studna's illustrious history with rock icons has been shared via radio interviews, college lectures and art galleries across the country. Carl’s most memorable professional assignments have involved shooting and spending time with these individuals that served as inspiring figures while growing up. Being greeted by His Holiness the Dalai Lama with his beaming childlike smile. Delighted by James Brown’s bag of eccentricities while spending a day photographing his album cover, “Universal James” while decoding every other word he spoke.
